Coping Builder Rules
Play by yourself, with a friend, or
in a group
- Take one block per turn from any level other than the top level.
- Choose one, or several, of the following prompts:
- Say the coping skill and talk about a time you have, could have, or can use it.
- State the feeling that this coping
skill could help - Act out the coping skill on the
block and see if others can guess ii. - Create your own way to express yourself using the coping skill on your block
- Place the block on the top level
- The game ends when the tower falls over.
Or, you can:
- Look through all the coping skills and make a single stacked tower of all the ones you used today
- Line up all the coping skills you used this month like dominoes and knock them down.
Coping Builder is a cognitive-behavioral therapy game that can be used in play therapy, group or family therapy, ESE classrooms, or at home.
