Coping Builder Rules

Play by yourself, with a friend, or
in a group

  • Take one block per turn from any level other than the top level.
  • Choose one, or several, of the following prompts:
  1. Say the coping skill and talk about a time you have, could have, or can use it.
  2. State the feeling that this coping
    skill could help
  3. Act out the coping skill on the
    block and see if others can guess ii.
  4. Create your own way to express yourself using the coping skill on your block
  • Place the block on the top level
  • The game ends when the tower falls over.

 Or, you can:

  • Look through all the coping skills and make a single stacked tower of all the ones you used today
  • Line up all the coping skills you used this month like dominoes and knock them down.

Coping Builder is a cognitive-behavioral therapy game that can be used in play therapy, group or family therapy, ESE classrooms, or at home.
